My adventures in solopreneurship began very early.1
My first business was a lemonade stand. I was seven, so my mom made the lemonade, and my dad built the stand, but the business plan was all mine.
I set up for business at 7 a.m. at the foot of our driveway, right next to the garbage set out for pick up that morning.
The garbage truck arrived at 7:15, and I sold out my stock before 7:30. I closed shop and deposited $4.75 into a cigar box under my bed.
This Friday on Purpose post is the topic for today’s live Catalyst Club community call. With a paid subscription, you can join the community and the conversations at 1 p.m. ET.
I launched several other ventures before my teens.
At age nine, I created a neighborhood “newspaper,” sold subscriptions, published it, and delivered carbon copies typed out on my dad’s old Olympia typewriter.
